WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY HVAC RENOVATION

CHARLES CITY, IA

WAGGONER & WINEINGER ARCHITECTS

Washington Elementary School is currently undergoing a $1 million HVAC systems renovation.  As a part of the school district’s desire to provide more energy efficient buildings, a geothermal heat source HVAC system was selected to replace the existing 36 year old conventional HVAC system.  Different replacement systems were analyzed, with the geothermal heat source system being the most energy efficient, and having the best life cycle cost.  Construction will be undertaken in two phases—Summer, 2006 and Summer, 2007.
